MAPSI is a joint educational initiative on the impact of arts project that is funded by the Lifelong Learning Programme of the European Union. A summer school will take place in Helsinki / Kallio-Kunninkala (Finland) for the 25-30 August 2014. The working language of the school will be English.
A combination of lectures, presentations, case studies, visits to cultural institutions and open discussions with scholars and practitioners will allow students from different countries and from artistic and economic disciplines to reflect and learn about how to manage the cultural, social and economic impact of cultural projects and institutions.
Undergraduate students (3rd year and above) and graduate students from the participating institutions are invited to apply for a grant to participate at the Summer School.
Interested students should contact to the person representing MAPSI project at their university and send an application set with the following documents before due date indicated by their university:
• 1-page CV indicating education, language skills and relevant courses for the summer school contents to justify the merits and ability to combine creative and analytical skills, and to work in an international group.
• 1-page personal statement, indicating motivation and vision about the societal impacts of culture and the arts.
Applications will go under review of the local committee of the programme, and will be ranked according to CV and assessment of the motivation letter. Applicants will be informed of whether they have been allocated a place at the workshop by e-mail.
